Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about the site, our guides, licensing and privacy. If your question is not here, contact us.
What is Bike4Ride?
Bike4Ride is an independent mountain bike blog covering riding position and technique, gear and tyres, maintenance, frame building, and clothing for real mountain weather.
How often are guides updated?
Every guide carries a last-reviewed date and is checked at least once a season. Updates appear on the page itself, not in a separate changelog.
Do you sell bikes or parts?
No. Bike4Ride is an editorial site. We publish guides and may link to retailers, including affiliate links, but we do not process orders or ship products.
Is the site free to read?
Yes. The site is funded by advertising and affiliate links, which never decide what a guide recommends.
Can I reuse your articles or photos?
Short quotations with a link back are welcome. Photographs licensed from third parties remain their property; full credits and licences are on our image credits page.
Do you accept guest posts?
We accept pitches from riders and mechanics with genuine experience, but we do not publish paid links or sponsored articles that pretend to be editorial.
Which camera or tools do you use?
We do not publish gear lists for their own sake. Where a tool matters to a job, the guide names the type of tool you need rather than a specific brand.
How do I report a factual error?
Use the contact page and choose 'Correction or factual error'. We aim to fix genuine errors within two business days and note the change on the page.
How do you handle privacy and cookies?
We ask for consent before non-essential cookies, use Google Analytics and advertising measurement tags, and never sell personal data. See the privacy policy for detail.
